I started Date Mate to address and create a space for open conversation and communication on topics surrounding, love, dating, our body, the biology, the hiccups, the amazing science, the emotions, how tech fits into the equation and much, much more.
I grew up in Camden Town in the 80s
A time with no online library and a lot of topics on the ‘do not discuss’ list. I personally found it incredibly hard to navigate emotions, love, sex and my body. To be proud of what I had and to understand myself and other matters in this arena.

Now, I’m glad, there is a huge stream of searchable topics available online.
I believe we should always have a space to share and talk about some of the unspoken topics that I believe need to be heard, seen and acknowledged as part of life.
From the moment you develop your first crush… you’re catapulted from crush culture to dating and eventually mating. Or mating and then dating. Or just mating. Whatever takes your fancy. You’ve no guide book unless you count the sub-par education at school or had a cool friend / sibling / parent.
